Chicken Soup for the Latino Soul

The book Chicken Soup for the Latino Soul was intended to show the "storytelling traditions of the Latino culture." Do you like books that are based on your own culture? Why or why not? Explain with examples.

  3. I do like reading about my own culture, but i prefer reading about other cultures. I know a lot about my culture, but I want to learn about others. Reading about what you already know, I find boring. But reading about other cultures and how they celebrate and do things, I find interesting. Reading these stories though, like "The Bear", related to my life. But reading different cultures makes me learn more about the world.

I kind of like books that are based on my own culture. I like being able to find out things about my culture that I didn't know before. I read a book based on my culture that was saying how they used to live and how the country used to be run. That was things that I didn't know before. I believe that I would like reading about a new culture because it is interseting to find out about different cultures even if we might not have experienced them before.
